The O event brings a wide array of technology and entrepenureship leaders to a multi day conference that sells out in 30 minutes. Execs from companies like Zappos, Tom's Shoes, etc. headline the dizzying array of speakers.
Omaha has become home to many start-up tech companies thanks to people like the Halo Institute, The Scott Incubator, complete with it's super computers, and the lure of former start-ups like Paypal, Hayneedle.com, T.D. Ameritrade, etc. The Mastercraft building, a former furniture company, is now home to an ever increasing array of start-up firms, involved in everything from skateboards, to internet based interior design.
Not just limited to technology, start up here include everything. Even the arts. Five new galleries have opened in the last 18 months. And the weeklong Omaha Fashion Week has become the premiere event in the Midwest, complete with tents to rival Bryant Park in NYC. So successful, this year it becomes a twice a year event.
